A DECLINE in the quality of African National Congress (ANC) members is contributing to its decay and heightening contestation for positions, Limpopo ANC secretary Soviet Lekganyane says. The province heads to a nomination conference on Wednesday to choose its preferred leaders ahead of the national elective conference in Mangaung.Limpopo is the hotbed of the campaign for leadership change in the ANC and its provincial executive committee, along with that of the Gauteng province, is lobbying for Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe to replace the incumbent, President Jacob Zuma.The province itself appears divided, with all its regions — including its largest, Peter Mokaba and Waterberg — failing to conclude nominations in all branches ahead of Wednesday’s 9am deadline.Last night the conference was postponed until further notice to give the 70 outstanding branches time to finalise their nominations.In depth: Mangaung 2012 News, views, analysis and multimedia coverage of the ANC's 2012 M...
