LETTER: The electorate is naïve
President-elect has done very little to show his mettle
Analysis of the election outcome has been very poor. Given that Cyril Ramaphosa led his party to its worst performance in the election, to now expect him to “liberate” the country from its ills when he has thus far failed to prosecute the ANC Life Esidemeni killers or fire tainted Zuma-era ministers is absurd. It shows a naivety as to how the ANC functions. In addition, anyone who bothered to read the FF+ constitution and manifesto would realise it is the most balanced and classically liberal set of ideas of all the parties and cannot be classified as right wing. The assumption that because it is led by an Afrikaner it must be right wing and racist illustrates ignorance and prejudice.
