Brandan’s cartoon "Lift Club" of April 15 refers. It is wonderful to see SA, at last, acknowledging that Omar al-Bashir is, in fact, a rogue. However, I am deeply suspicious about that notorious visit to SA and al-Bashir’s escape in defiance of a court order.

Then-president Jacob Zuma, as supported by his colleagues in parliament, very ably helped Al-Bashir escape our legal authorities. One wonders whether in fact this assistance was eased by the “greasing of palms”, thereby rendering the cartoon a rather bitter laugh.
