I am surprised Terry Crawford-Browne’s pure hate mail was approved by your editor (Israel an Apartheid State, April 8). It contained a number of lies and distortions of the truth, such as Israel being an apartheid state, a gangster state and comparable to Nazi Germany. Crawford-Browne is an anti-Semite from way back, and obviously your editors agree with his views. It seems that your editors want to join the ranks of the tabloids in this country. I have no doubt that there must have been correspondence refuting this disgusting letter that you have not published. What upsets you and Crawford-Browne is obviously the fact that Israel is the most democratic country in the Middle East. Arabs are full citizens of Israel and have representation in parliament. What is not known or understood is that the land of Israel was created in terms of the partition by the UN in 1948.
