The people of SA are getting increasingly frustrated when corrupt politicians are not being charged after stealing millions of taxpayers’ money. They have had enough. I believe it is possible to stop corruption at all levels of the government by changing the constitution to require all state employees to report on their worldwide assets. ( They also need to declare assets of immediate family members, whether held directly or indirectly through trusts or companies). This should be done annually to an organisation that is independent of the government and has the necessary powers to verify the information. The officials should also report on any increase in the value of the assets during the year. Furthermore, should it be discovered that a politician has not disclosed certain assets, they should be confiscated by the state.
