What a spectacular own goal.

Our forward-thinking ANC government elects to send a delegation abroad, at taxpayers’ expense, to demonstrate solidarity with Venezuela’s president, Nicolas Maduro, the leader of a massively failed state. At the same time, our economic emissaries are scouring the world in search of investment capital in an effort to save our own sinking ship.

To make this ill-crafted initiative even more bizarre, the delegation leader is none other than our esteemed Ace Magashule of corruption-ridden Estina dairy project fame. I hope he took a consignment of milk with him to feed the starving citizens of this erstwhile land of milk and honey, previously known as the richest nation in South America.

SA runs the imminent risk of being the only Marxist state left on planet Earth. Even our long-time friends, Cuba, took a decision a few days ago to recognise private property rights. We turn left when everybody else turns right.

One of these days we will have to smell the coffee and recognise the fundamental ingredients needed to become a winning nation. Either that or drown in a bowl of sour Estina milk.
