A lot of people I know are thinking about not voting, either in protest or to avoid compromising themselves by not voting for the lesser evil. This is not a sensible approach because by not voting, the only message we send is “low voter turnout” (apathy) and the message is lost. A spoiled vote simply says “I’m fed up and I don’t care anymore”. If you do still care, however, there is another option. We need a political party called “Don’t Vote” or “Change The System”. A vote for that party is one that will be registered, counted and reported on. This way we can “not vote”, retain our integrity and yet still be heard. We can also make a big difference. We will be sending a very clear message: the political system is infested with criminals, incompetents, liars, psychopaths, populists and opportunists.
