Bathabile Dlamini’s speech regarding the failure of women to be elected to top positions at the ANC conference was embarrassing. She referred to Jesse Duarte as the only female elected and said "if comrade Duarte had stood with a man, she would have been pushed under the bus". Her articulation was inadequate and, given her nickname of "Papsak", one could be forgiven for thinking she had imbibed too much liquor. Frankly, there are very few ANC politicians with talent, and no female ANC politician with any acumen. One can only imagine what the consequences would be if Dlamini were to be elected to a top position in the ANC executive. Nathan Cheiman Northcliff
