The ANC elective conference is the most crucial indaba in the history of SA. After riding high on the wave of democracy that began with freedom in 1994, recent disturbing and painful events in governance unsettle those whose dream of a country free of rampant and audacious corruption has been shattered by unscrupulous leaders. We are witnessing the strangulation of our democracy. With the latest financial downgrade to junk status we might as well play Monopoly with our worthless currency. It is imperative that all candidates participating in the ANC presidential race eschew acts that might undermine our democracy. We do not need leaders who belly-crawl and bootlick the stinking toes of foreign businessmen. We continue to be saddled by a failed generation of leaders driven by a lust for power.
