President Jacob Zuma should take note of what is happening in Zimbabwe. The people there are discontented (gatvol) with the elite gorging themselves at the trough at the expense of ordinary citizens. Here in SA people are equally fed up and tired of a delinquent president who continues to loot and shield his cronies from prosecution. The country is already over the edge of economic doom, and the call by the ANC for "economic transformation" is merely a ploy to delay its December elective conference. Unemployment is rife and state funds are either being looted or deployed to entities that have no chance of economic survival. It is incumbent on the ANC to replace Zuma as soon as possible to avoid a backlash from its own constituents. The poor and unemployed are a ticking time-bomb and the government’s failure to recognise this may come back to haunt it. SA is as much an African country as Zimbabwe — we are not immune from what happened to our neighbour. Cheiman, Northcliff
