The article headlined How SA’s nuke cloud became a global silver lining, published on August 22, claims that the nuclear bomb test of September 22 1979 above the Prince Edward Isles was "probably an Israeli missile test fired from Overberg". In 1979, the government had not yet expropriated the 12 dairy farms that later became the Overberg test range, and the infrastructure itself was only completed by the mid-1980s. So, the Israeli missile was most probably fired from the deck of an Israeli naval ship off the Prince Edward islands. Keith GottschalkClaremont
