What a good job the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse is doing in trying to keep Eskom accountable for the utility’s costs, as reflected in Charlotte Mathews’ excellent article. (Outa hails Eskom disclosure order, August 14). However, one point was omitted — Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown should be legally instructed to order Eskom to recover the billions of rand corruptly misappropriated from Eskom. Until these funds are returned in full, there must be no more talk of electricity price increases, as only then can a true picture of the utility’s financial health be assessed.
