After the tragedy of having a lodge we owned in Knysna completely destroyed by fire, I asked FNB merchant services to cancel our credit card merchant facilities and informed them that the speed-point machine had obviously been destroyed. To my absolute shock, I was advised they would not cancel the service until I paid a R6,800 fee for the destroyed terminal. One would think there would be an insurance component built into the R250 fee they charged each month for the unit, or perhaps they could have shown some compassion in the circumstances. I will certainly be reviewing my other seven merchant facilities held by them. Shame on you FNB! Nigel DottDouglasdale
