Congratulations on your "Empowerment" supplement. It was an excellent review. However, what was missing may hold the key to true empowerment. Where were all the skills education training authorities (Setas)? Surely they are the worst example of this government’s inability to provide an essential service? Billions are diverted into the Seta black hole every year, and precious little ever emerges. Your supplement had a good section on the building industry. When I think of what the old Civil Engineering Industry Training Board was doing on a shoestring and see what its replacement is not doing with the flood of cash it is wasting, I rage. One percent of the national wage bill spent on what, exactly? Our attention has been diverted from this theft by the daylight robbery of the Guptas.
