Simon Barber’s main problem is that he is not an ordinary American. It was those ordinary folk who elected Donald Trump as their president. Trump is certainly doing things differently, to the point where White House staff are full of praise for the business-like approach to management he has brought to the day-to-day administration of government. We know Barber hasn’t a good word for Trump, but can he not move on to some more interesting aspects of American life? To many, it is still a great country. He could start by devising a way by which presidents would not need an inordinate amount of money to qualify. C RichardsVia e-mail
