As with so many ANC plans, its wish to go back to "precolonial boundaries" for land distribution has not been thought through, nor the consequences taken into consideration. If this plan was to be carried out not only would whites have to leave the country, but the ANC would have to rearrange every tribe and ethnic group in SA, on a scale never seen before in modern history. This is because right up to colonial times, there were major movements of tribes across SA. Just take the influence of Shaka and the destruction by Mzilikazi, when he and his followers fled to what is now Zimbabwe, or the subjugation of the Tsonga and others by the Zulus, or the expansion by the Xhosa and Sotho tribes into the lands of the San. Are these the precolonial boundaries that are going to be redrawn or, as we all suspect, does this plan only apply to the white population? Is it, in other words, just a racist reactionary plan to try and cover up the ANC’s monumental failure at every level of land reform...
