Despite Richard Becker presenting useful facts about nuclear and wind power in his response to my earlier letter, he does not respond at all to the data I presented about the nuclear industry, which I thought were rather important (Wind not up to scratch, February 14). His major focus is on cost and so was mine, so the lack of a response is regrettable. SA does face urgent decisions about electricity production. No, I don’t have an answer yet. At this stage we should all have questions and should be expecting answers. We need a debate to achieve a common understanding of the realities and to promote solutions that best meet our human, economic and environmental needs. Jonathan HemsonEdenvale
