South African Communist Party (SACP) general secretary Blade Nzimande said on Sunday the move by the Hawks to target Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe was completely out of order. He said "enough is enough" and the "monopolisation and the Guptarisation" of the country must be stopped. The Sunday Times reports that the Hawks are pursuing Mantashe along with Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas and party treasurer Zweli Mkhize for failing to report that Jonas was offered a R600m bribe and the finance minister post by one of the Gupta brothers. City Press reports that Gordhan will be charged in relation to the establishment of the so-called rogue unit in 2007, when Gordhan was commissioner of the South African Revenue Service. Speaking at a Red October Campaign rally at Sebokeng in Gauteng‚ Nzimande said the party was drawing a red line in the sand and he called for an intensification of the struggle against the abuse of state organs.
