At least our official statisticians have a sense of humour. “The annual rate for hot beverages steamed to 16.5% in June, from 14.2% in May,” we learnt in the latest consumer price inflation release from Stats SA.
Coffee price inflation clearly is a concern — and the spike in mild Arabica bean prices over the past six months surely bears the blame. Steamy global tea prices can’t have helped either...
