The ambivalence most SA cricket followers feel towards the Indian Premier League (IPL) is in stark contrast to a whirlpool of the strongest emotions experienced by the participants in crickets greatest show on earth. And they have to be extremely careful about the people with whom they choose to share their feelings.
The entire infrastructure of the tournament, from the franchises to the schedule and off-field commitments is more emotionally draining than most of us could possibly imagine. While 5am flights and three-hour photo-shoots can be bothersome, they are a part of the package and the mostly very generous salary package...
