The AMP building is one of the most imposing and unusual in central Sydney. It is a symbol of a time when this business towered over the Australian financial services industry, and visitors to Sydney, as I was last month, can’t fail to notice its distinctive shape.
In the late ’80s, when I was covering advertising, we were exposed to AMP’s advertising at conferences. One included what has now become a cliché: a silver-haired couple enjoying a happy retirement on a yacht. ..
