Last week trade, industry & competition minister Ebrahim Patel said at the launch of the Online Intermediation Platforms Market Inquiry: “If you book a hotel, or get a cooked meal delivered to your home, or sell or buy a house, or use apps for banking, work, communication or entertainment, or search for products or services through Google, then this report speaks to you.”

Really? That couldn’t be further from the truth. Consumers of digital services, like you and me — and analysis of what is best for us — are almost completely missing from the Competition Commission’s report...
