The Washington Post broke a story this week that workers at Apple’s Grand Central Station retail outlet in New York announced — through the publication of a simple, dedicated website at fsworkersunited.org (https://fsworkersunited.org/) — that they plan to start a union.
New Yorkers have long believed their city is the centre of the universe, but that is not why this story is getting top billing on the world’s news channels, despite being a labour issue regionally specific to a micro-scale, and being about a limited group of Regular Joes in nametags and regulation footwear...
