Time will tell whether the intercontinental aspect of the Rainbow Cup will take place, but what we do know is that the competition is starting on Friday and at last we have the start of something proper.
My daughter explained the absence of her usual emotion at the recent Proteas cricket failings by saying: “Everything at the moment just seems play play” — meaning the games are being played just so we have cricket and the results don’t matter — and I could completely understand what she meant...
