The data from SA’s agricultural sector has been encouraging since the start of the year. 

The first good news was the 8% year-on-year expansion in 2019/2020 summer crops planting. This is likely to result in higher yields following the recent rains in most parts of the country. In addition, the wine industry announced that the 2020 wine grape harvest could be slightly higher than in 2019.
