About a week after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the appointment of his impressive-sounding economic advisory council, I had a conversation with a friend and former colleague. In SA, it doesn’t take long for the conversation to turn to the ANC’s politics. And it quickly moved on to the council, and whether it was the latest example of Ramaphosa’s refusal to lead.
