My LinkedIn profile recently reminded me that I have been running a financial planning business for 14 years. In that time, I have conducted thousands of financial planning meetings, given hundreds of financial planning talks, and written three books and many articles on money. I have realised the main factor that determines your financial success is staring right at you every time you look in the mirror. Great advisers, good financial education, quality investments and excellent financial planning tools are all powerless to help you if you are not ready to be financially free. What is financial freedom? Financial freedom is the ability to generate enough income from your assets so that you cover all your expenses every year. This income needs to increase every year so that you can keep pace with inflation. Financial freedom is not the same as being wealthy.
