On Thursday, four days ahead of the Cape Town Cycle Tour, it rained in Cape Town. In the tinkling of a cloud my carefully planned training programme for what will be my 15th Cycle Tour was thrown into disarray. Mind you, if I had gone for a ride on Thursday it would also have been the start of my training for my 15th Cycle Tour. I should stop talking about how many Cycle Tours I have done. Number crunching your cycling is not very cool. It is decidedly showy-off and amateur. Not every second counts even when it is all about the bike. Get on your bike, roll up to the start, get to the end, drink beer. That is what Cycle Tour Sunday is all about.
