For someone who writes for a living, this must be one of the most difficult columns to pen. So, for what it’s worth, I will try to string it without resorting to drivel or even shedding a tear, although the latter is perhaps inevitable at this point. My career at Motor News begun back in 2008, January 8 to be more precise, and it was a gig I was both excited about yet approached with much trepidation as I was stepping into the shoes of two motoring journalists I hold in high regard — the then editor of Motor News Patrick Gearing and the indomitable Benedict Maaga — both seasoned motoring writers with clout and credibility.
