Consumers love brands. Brands make a promise about the quality and integrity of the underlying product and hence brand value is something to be proud of, something that, with judicious curatorship, grows over time. Brands engender customer loyalty and strong brands attract good people to work for them but ultimately help companies to be very profitable. Brand valuation and strategy consultancy Brand Finance recently unveiled its South Africa 50 for 2018, an annual ranking of the most valuable brands in SA. MTN is once again SA’s most valuable brand, while Capitec is the country’s strongest brand. Brand Finance is headed in SA by brand guru Jeremy Sampson.
