While Stephen Koseff gave his swan song at Investec’s results presentation this week, another business leader is preparing to stand down after 26 years at the organisation he created: Thebe Corporation’s founder Vusi Khanyile. Business Day asked Khanyile and incoming CEO Sizwe Mncwango what Thebe’s standout achievements had been? VUSI KHANYILE (VK): We started in July 1992, and in August or September a team of two people started squatting in my office, and we started working on a project of establishing an airline — and that airline was formally launched in 1994 — SA Express. We’re lyrical about it because it played an important role in our development — it also gave us confidence that we could put together a project of that nature.
