KEVIN McCALLUM: Musical chairs a serious sport at Winter Olympics
A few days after an oke from Pretoria sent a car into space, the organisers of the Winter Olympics were in a tizz about making sure there was enough space between the US and North Korea. Mike Pence, vice-president of the US, and Kim Jong-un’s sister, Kim Yo-jong, will attend the opening ceremony in Pyeongchang, South Korea on Friday and be seated in the VIP section, just metres apart. Kim Yo-jong, blacklisted by the US, heads the propaganda programme for North Korea. Pence heads the apology programme for the president of the US. Pence is going in hard. He is taking the father of Otto Warmbier, the US student who died after being returned to the US in a coma having been imprisoned by North Korea.
