If the management of Kaizer Chiefs had managed to prise themselves away from the comfort of their air-conditioned suites and taken the short walk down to the unreserved seats at FNB Stadium on Saturday night, they would have got a better insight into the reasons behind the growing anger in the stands. Colleague Velile Mbuli and I dispensed with the comforts of the media centre to sit among the supporters when Chiefs welcomed BidVest Wits to the cavernous 2010 World Cup venue on Saturday. There’s no better place to assess the true feelings of the supporters and our trips to the stands have proved to be very useful over the years. You could almost touch the fury as the game progressed. The fans were seething after Chiefs delivered yet another limping performance in a 1-1 draw with a 10-man Wits. Wits had a man sent off before half-time and played the entire second half with 10 men.
