The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s obstinacy in agreeing on tour dates … the withdrawal of a franchise from the T20 Global League before it’s even started … the imminent return of Dale Steyn to competitive cricket … SA A and Emerging Player tours … the glacial movement towards the formation of a Test and one-day championship to contextualise international, bilateral cricket … and another high-profile, cricketing Twitter war. It has been a busy week. It was the public spat between and among former and current players concerning the availability and otherwise of AB de Villiers which appeared, once again, to be the major talking point among frustrated Proteas supporters. As much as De Villiers tries to deflect the speculation, the harder it rebounds. In case anybody has any doubts — don’t. He is not enjoying it.
