TWEET OF THE WEEK: Mngxitama the revolutionary joker
Only a true revolutionary has a Twitter account, and then tweets twaddle to a few people who generally aren’t their market anyway
Welcome to Tweet of the Week. Every Friday I will use this column to hand out an award to one person who has tweeted something of significance. There are no strict rules, only that the tweet in question must offer an important insight, define a debate (notorious or otherwise) or mark an occasion. This week the Tweet of the Week goes to @Mngxitama for: "BLF is the first black movement to be put under surveillance by the post 1994 government. Never threaten white supremacy." Profile: Andile Mngxitama is a former member of the EFF, from which he was expelled, and now the leader of Black First Land First (BLF) movement. He has some 74k followers on Twitter. Citation: There is something inherently contradictory about the name Black First Land First. The author — founder, peasant revolutionary and connoisseur of fine whiskey, Andile Mngxitama — clearly doesn’t understand what the word "first" means.
