Mongameli Bobani, the United Democratic Movement (UDM) deputy mayor in Nelson Mandela Bay, is busy sabotaging the metro coalition. He is a destructive and poisonous personality who is severely compromised and is subverting the public interest in favour of a personal agenda. He is acting deliberately to destabilise an entire administration. His behaviour is unacceptable, and UDM leader Bantu Holomisa needs to take action. If he does not, he risks Bobani destroying both his and the UDM’s reputation, and handing NMB back to the ANC on a platter in turn. The Nelson Mandela Bay coalition now rests on one man — Holomisa. It’s time for him to demonstrate some leadership, because he has shown precious little of it to date.
