There is no approach towards preparation for International Cricket Council events that SA have not tried over the past 20 years or so, from the most laid-back to the most intense. The fact that they have not won one since the fledgling Champions Trophy in 1998 may mean they believe previous preparation was at fault. That is not necessarily the case. Although some mistakes have been made and were retrospectively recognised, it is entirely feasible that preparation was as good as it could have been for most global events over the past couple of decades and it was everything else that was responsible for the lack of success. This time, Russell Domingo has opted for a "full-on" approach.
