For those who have never been to New Zealand before, eyes have been opened to a unique atmosphere as the Proteas prepare for the first of three Test matches starting at the University Oval on Wednesday. Sport matters a great deal in this country, but you wouldn’t know it if you come from a "big issue, big hype" sort of nation in which sports headlines lead news bulletins if there isn’t something huge happening elsewhere.
