A nine-year-old has applied to be a "Guardian of the Galaxy" for the North American Space Agency (Nasa). Jack Davis sent a letter to the agency, in which he pointed out that he was young and could therefore still learn to think like an alien. The space agency had advertised a vacancy for a "planetary protection officer", which entails preventing "organic-constituent and biological contamination in human and robotic space exploration". Davis responded with a letter saying why he thought he would be a good candidate. "I may be nine, but I think I would be fit for the job," he wrote. "One of the reasons is my sister says I am an alien. Also, I have seen almost all the space and alien movies I can." He said he had seen the show Marvel’s Agents of Shield and hoped to see Men in Black in the future.
