Cows’ right to life is taken so seriously by Hindus in India that a laboratory has developed a portable beef-detection kit to help the cops check quickly if meat is from an animal that was slaughtered illegally – not many cows are killed legally. The animals are revered by Hindus and the eating of beef is banned in most Indian states. In some, you can go to jail for life for cow murder. The detection kit works by changing colour if a sample is bovine and it takes just 30 minutes to condemn a cow killer’s accomplice. Some in India think the government is more concerned with the lives of cows than of humans. "Awful case of misplaced priorities. We have nothing more important to spend state resources on?
