BUSINESS Day editor Songezo Zibi will be leaving the publication at the end of the February.Times Media Group said in a release to staff on Thursday that a new editor would be appointed shortly, while Mr Zibi would continue to write columns for Business Day and the Sunday Times.Mr Zibi replaced Peter Bruce as editor of Business Day in March 2014, becoming the publication’s first black editor. He had previously spent 11 months as an associate editor at Business Day’s sister publication, Financial Mail.When Mr Zibi assumed leadership of the publication, it had already been facing years of declining circulation within SA’s print media industry.Prior to his appointment, he had most recently spent four years as a corporate affairs executive at Xstrata SA, now known as Glencore, and had served on the executive committee of the National Business Initiative.Mr Zibi had previously spent eight years in corporate communication at Volkswagen SA.During his tenure, Mr Zibi was a regular commentat...
