Poor record keeping, ineffective stock practices and a shortage of pharmacists and pharmacist assistants — these are the problems that are prevalent in provincial health departments and increase the risk of drugs running out. This is according to a set of special performance audits done by auditor-general Kimi Makwetu into specific key functions within selected departments.
