President Jacob Zuma’s free fees plan appears to be on the back burner, with the Treasury this week looking to reassure ratings agencies that it will implement a range of measures to rein in expenditure, raise revenue and address the country’s budget shortfall. So with free higher education potentially being shelved, just how much will you need to get your child from crèche to the end of their tertiary education?
