The Cape Peninsula University of Technology’s city campus was petrol-bombed early on Monday, hours before students were to write final exams. Exams were postponed by a week, and will start on Monday November 21. Students who preferred to write in January could still do so, the university said on Monday. Final-year education and health sciences exams students that had already begun would continue as previously communicated. University spokeswoman Lauren Kansley said the main entrance of the campus was petrol-bombed at about 6am. "The fire mostly affected the mail room and the fire department and Saps were on the scene." Police‚ security guards and protesters clashed at the university’s Bellville campus at the weekend.
