Steinhoff CEO Louis du Preez disclosed the names identified in the PwC forensic report as being involved in fictitious and irregular transactions worth about €6.5bn
Steinhoff CEO Louis du Preez has disclosed the eight names identified in the PwC forensic report as being involved in fictitious and irregular transactions amounting to about €6.5bn. Heading the list was former Steinhoff CEO Marcus Jooste, and also included were Steinhoff executives Dirk Schreiber, Ben La Grange and Stehan Grobler. Four individuals in counterparty companies were also named — former Steinhoff Europe CFO Siegmar Schmidt, Alan Evans, Jean-Noel Pasquier and Davide Romano. Du Preez and Steinhoff chair Heather Sonn initially refused to divulge the names, saying that confidentiality of those culpable was important so as not to jeopardise future litigation. But following a resolution by three parliamentary committees demanding that the names those culpable be divulged, Du Preez did so.
