While significant segments of the governing ANC and society generally have endorsed Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa as their candidate to be the next president of the party and the country, the DA has ranked him at merely one level above scandal-embroiled President Jacob Zuma. In its annual scorecard of cabinet ministers for 2017, the DA assigned an E to Ramaphosa and an F to Zuma. Overall, 18 of the 35 members of the Cabinet got an F, 12 received an E, five a D and two a C mark. The star performers were Science and Technology Minister Naledi Pandor and Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel. DA leader Mmusi Maimane released the results at a media briefing outside the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Monday.
