Presidential hotlines are a success, says performance monitoring department
The hotline, the brainchild of the president, expedites local government challenges — but also exposes weaknesses in provincial government
The government’s presidential hotline has expedited the resolution of local government challenges in various cases around the country, but has also exposed weaknesses in the functioning of provincial government.This is according to the Department of Performance Monitoring and Evaluation’s head of frontline monitoring, Neeta Behari, who briefed Parliament’s committee on performance monitoring and evaluation on Wednesday.While progress on the hotline’s effectiveness has been quiet, the performance monitoring and evaluation contends it has yielded the desired effect.
