State capture is political propaganda, says President Jacob Zuma. In an exclusive interview with ANN7 on Monday night, in which he also claimed to have survived a poisoning, Zuma said the term "state capture" needed to be clarified. "The state is made up of three pillars — the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. If you loosely use this term you [are] actually saying the executive, legislature and judiciary are captured," he said. "They are doing this for political reasons … no Parliament or executive is captured." This was something the judicial commission of inquiry into state capture would have to clarify, he said. "We can’t make it sound important and so big. We know what a state is, no one has said there are judges and the whole of Parliament captured….
