Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba will not appeal the High Court ruling dismissing an application lodged his predecessor, Pravin Gordhan, for a declaratory order involving the banks and Gupta-owned Oakbay. Gigaba said he respected the court order and would abide by it. This also means Treasury will pay the costs of the legal action, because the application was brought by Gordhan in his capacity as finance minister. It is the end of the road for Gordhan on the matter, as he is no longer finance minister.
