United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa says he is fed up with the DA’s antics in Nelson Mandela Bay after a vote of no confidence was called against deputy mayor Mongameli Bobani. Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Athol Trollip has announced that Bobani, of the UDM, would face a motion of no confidence in council next Thursday. Holomisa accused the DA of using apartheid-era tactics to try to get rid of Bobani. The motion was brought by the Patriotic Alliance’s Marlon Daniels, who recently signed an agreement to support the coalition government. "I am fed up with the DA. They can do what they want. But they have shown us they are no different to the old apartheid administrators," Holomisa said, adding that he would see out the coalition agreement until it expired in 2021. The relationship between Bobani and Trollip has been volatile for months, with Trollip axing Bobani as public health MMC in May and threatening to remove him as deputy mayor.
